The purpose of this study is to investigate the number of participants and conversational characteristics in gender participated in listening scripts(LS) of Middle School English Textbooks(MSET). Of the 13 kinds of MSET written by the 7th National English curriculum, the five most preferred series of MSET(7th-9th grades) are analyzed for this research. For the study, the researchers have mostly relied on data collection, not subjects. This study leads to the following results: Two people, m:f(male and female) appear in most often, extending over all grades. The conversation(93) between parents and children was studied in terms of politeness. As a result, the conversation(51) between mothers and sons was used most. Tag questions(52) were more used by women than men. In designing LS of MSET, textbook developers and English educators need to consider this study to develop better LS, the very core of listening material.
