Deng Zi-long, general of Ming Dynasty is an ethnic hero, held in high esteem for his patriotism, in China. He commanded at battlefield all his life, and in 1598 went to Joseon(朝鮮) for reinforcement. In Noryang naval battle(露梁海戰), he achieved a glorious exploit and died with Lee Sun-sin(李舜臣), general of Joseon Dynasty. His ashes reposed at Gogeum island(古今島), Jeonlado(全羅道) for a while. Later, during the reign of Jeong-Jo(正祖), his mortuary tablet was
placed in the Gwanwang shrine(關王廟) in Gogeum island, which worships Guan Yu, general of Shui. Gwanwang shrine is the former self of Chungmu shrine(忠武祠) of these days. Jeong-Jo made funeral oration for Deng Zi-long personally. Now in Fengcheng(豊城) Jiangxi(江西), China his graveyard is preserved, and his descendants are living nearby.

명 鄧子龍은 중국에서 애국장수로 추앙 받는 민족영웅이다. 그는 일생동안 전쟁터에서 활약했으며, 1598년(선조 31)에 조선 원병에 나서 露粱海戰에서 혁혁한 공을 세우고 李舜臣과 함께 전사했다. 등자룡의 유해는 전남 古今島에 잠시 안치했다. 조선 정조는 등자룡을 고금도 關王廟에 배향했다. 관왕묘는 오늘날 忠武祠의 전신이다. 정조는 친히 등자룡 제문을 지었다. 江西 豊城에는 등자룡의 묘소가 보존되어있으며, 등자룡묘 주변에는 그의 후손들이 거주하고 있다.
