One of the characteristics of telecom services is subscribers' cancellation of service contracts. The major two causes for subscribers' cancellation of service contracts are that new services result of technological development and new markets created by new technologies. That is, new technologies not only bring about substitution of services/products in existing markets with new ones but also create new markets, although this is true only when services/products developed by new technologies survive in the market. The purpose of this paper to forecast subscription demand for the next-generation mobile telecommunications(IMT-2000) service by considering technological substitution with the Loglet Analysis and the logistic substitution model and, at the same time, to discuss limitations of these analyses.

텔레콤 서비스의 특성 중 하나는 고객의 서비스계약 종료이다. 서비스계약 종료 이유는 기술발전에 따른 신규서비스의 결과와 신기술에 의해 창출된 시장 등 두 가지이다. 다시 말해, 신기술의 기존 시장에 존재하는 서비스와 제품의 대체제 일 뿐만 아니라 새로운 시장을 창출한다. 비록 신기술서비스의 생존으로서만 가능한 것일지라도 이것은 사실이다. 본연구의 목적은 차세대이동통신서비스인 IMT2000의 수요를 예측하는 것으로 Loglet 분석과 Logistic 대체모델을 동시에 고려함으로 수요를 예측하고자 한다. 말미에 연구의 한계점을 언급한다.
