This study is to obtain the basic information about effective strategies to implement the teaching and learning tailored to students' ability and achievement levels in the commercial high school. To achieve the purpose of this study, questionnaire survey was conducted to 150 the commercial high school teacher. And the case study was carried out for high schools to
implement the teaching and learning tailored to students' ability and achievement levels successfully.
Major findings of this study are as follows:
It is desirable that the teaching and learning tailored to students' ability and achievement levels in the commercial high school is implemented for subject in accounting information subject group.
It is recommended that the criteria to classify the level be students' ability, ability grouping between classes be better than ability grouping in classes. In order to raise the effectiveness of the teaching and learning tailored to students' ability and achievement levels, group tailored to
students' ability and achievement levels should be classified more than 3 levels.
In order to implement the teaching and learning tailored to students' ability and achievement levels in the commercial high school successfully, the number of teacher should be increased. And thoughtful consideration for lower level students need.

이 연구의 목적은 수준별 수업 우수학교 실천 사례 분석 결과와 상업계 고등학교 수준별 수업 실시와 관련하여 교사들을 대상으로 실시한 의견 조사 결과를 기초로, 상업계 고등학교에서 수준별 수업을 효과적으로 실시하는데 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위한 것이다. 상업계 고등학교에 서의 수준별 수업은 다음과 같은 점을 고려하여 실시되어야 한다.
상업계 고등학교에서 전문교과를 대상으로 수준별 수업을 실시할 경우에, 수준별 수업은 ‘회계정보 과목군’을 대상으로 실시하는 것이 바람직할 것이다. 또한 ‘학습 능력’을 기준으로 ‘수준’을 나누는 것이 바람직하고, 수준별 학습 집단 편성을 할 때는 가능하다면 ‘학급 내 학습 집단 편성’보다는 ‘학급 간 수준별 이동반 편성’을 하는 것이 필요하다. 수준별 수업을 효과적으로 하기 위해서는 최소한 3수준 이상으로 집단을 편성하는 것이 효과적이다. 그리고 상업계 고등학교에서 수준별 수업을 확대 실시하기 위해서는 교사 충원을 해야 하며, 특히 ‘수준별 수업에 필요한 물리적인 환경’을 시급히 해결해야 한다.
수준별 수업으로 인해 ‘학생들 간의 열등감, 위화감 조성으로 학습 분위기 훼손’의 가능성도 존재하기 때문에 수준별 수업을 실시할 때는 부정적인 효과가 최소화되도록 노력해야 하며, 특히 수준별 수업의 효과를 극대화하기 위해서는 하위수준 학생들에 대한 적극적인 배려가 필요하다.
