With a geographical advantage, Korea is trying to jump over Japan and China into logistics hub in Northeast Asia. Also, a number of competing suggestions have been proposed for the successful result. Most of studies and Korean government's major policies have been focused mainly on the development of large sized ports and their improved operation. In order to strengthen the competitiveness of the hub ports, however, the importance of feeder port should be recognized. Thus, this study tries to suggest some possible alternative proposals, which are summarized as follows.
The first is the functional relocation among major ports and feeder ports. The second is the efficient usages of coastal transportation for the reduction of logistics costs. And the final is the efficient investment from government and the consolidation of legal system about logistics and trade.
