The Dysfunctional Beliefs Test(DBT) was recently developed to assess dysfunctional beliefs
relevant to social phobia. Exploratory factor analyses of this earlier study revealed that the
DBT consisted of three correlated factors, labeled negative concept of social self, excessive demand for others' approval, and negative belief of others and social relations. The present study employed confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) to ascertain further the factor structure of the DBT.
Hierarchical three-factor model and two alternative models were evaluated using CFA of the
DBT responses collected from undergraduate students(N = 571). Both a single-factor model
and a model with three factors constrained to be orthogonal provided poor fits to the data.
However, the results of CFA supported a hierarchical factor structure consisting of 3
first-order factors and 1 second-order factor. The implications of these findings for the
cognitive conceptualization of social anxiety/phobia and the utilization of the DBT as well as
the limitations of this study were discussed.

역기능적 신념검사(Dysfunctional Beliefs Test)는 사회공포증과 관련된 역기능적 신념을 평가하기
위하여 최근에 개발되었다. 선행 연구에서 이 검사는 사회적 자기에 대한 부정적 개념, 타인의 인정에 대한 과도한 요망, 그리고 타인 및 사회적 관계에 대한 부정적인 신념이라는 세 개의 상관된 요인들로 구성되어 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 역기능적 신념검사의 요인구조를 더 살펴보기 위하여 확인적 요인분석(confirmatory factor analysis)을 적용하였다. 대학생 571명으로부터 수집된 역기능적 신념검사에 대한 반응자료를 바탕으로 위계적 3요인모형과 두 가지 대안모형들의 적합도를 비교 검증하였다. 그 결과, 단일요인모형과 독립된 3요인모형은 수집된 자료에 부합되지 않았다. 이에 반해, 3개의 1차 요인과 1개의 2차 요인으로 구성된 위계적 3요인모형은 수집된 자료에 잘 부합되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 끝으로, 본 연구의 결과를 사회불안과 사회공포증에 대한 인지적 개념화 및 역기능적 신념검사의 활용방안이라는 측면에서 논의하였고, 본 연구의 제한점을 제시하였다
