This study was to examine the relationship of the degree of autonomy given from the parent corporations to the social welfare facilities and organizational success in multi-units Social Welfare Corporations and provide implications to the management of social welfare organizations. To meet the above-mentioned objectives, the emergence of one social welfare corporation that operates many social welfare facilities in the perspectives of multi-organizations and chain-affiliation was examined.
The concept of organizational success for SWCs(Social Welfare Corporations) based on the literature review and in-depth interview data was operated by following three dimensions: the practice degree of corporate mission, job satisfaction, and perceived success. Autonomy was operated by following four satisfaction, and perceived success. Autonomy was operated by following four dimensions: the influence from the SWCs of personnel management, financial
adminstration, information sharing and business planning, and a policy decision.
The subject for the survey was social welfare corporations in Seoul area(one questionnaire per one social welfare corporation). The survey was conducted through mail and on-site visiting survey methods. Data from 102 SWCs out of 107 SWCs were analyzed through descriptive statistics, T-test, fact analysis and multiple regression, using the SPSS 12.5. Major research findings are as follows.
The level of organizational success of SWCs that corporate managers perceived was 3.72 of 5. The level of the influence from the SWCs of personnel management was 2.90, the financial adminstration was 2.80, the information sharing and business planning was 3.48, and a policy decision was 3.49. The influence from the SWCs of personnel management and the influence from the SWCs of the information sharing and business planning were found to have significant effects on organizational success.
