The dissertation which it sees is to research on　the situation, suffering and resistance of the Japanese Buddhism under the emperor system which is turning out to in Japan militarism after Meizi-isin(明治維新). The Empire Constitution and Kyouiku-Chokugo(教育勅語）which displays symbolical and substantial influence in process of Japan militarism under the emperor system is
analyzed And the process to total mobilization of the people through law-mading, especially law for the maintenance of public peace, Religious-Group Law in war system is discussed. In this process it is focused on production of militarism idea, especially Kokutairon(國體論）by buddhists.
The pressure of war system to buddhists and positive resistance to militarism is analyzed to Sinkou-Bukkyou Seinen Doumei(新興佛敎靑年同盟), and passive resistance to defense about identity of buddhism orders and common buddhists' activity through a study on the history of the
pressure Tokkou(特高). This research has the meaning to carry out and illuminate objectively the right and dark side about in modern history of the Japanese Buddhism which not was thoroughly discussed until now.

본 논문은 명치유신 이후 천황제 군국주의로 경도되어 가는 일본의 상황에 대한 분석 및 이후 전개되는 전시체제하의 불교적 동향과 수난, 그리고 저항을 연구한 것이다. 천황제 군국주의 과정의 이행에 있어서는 상징적이며 실질적인 영향력을 발휘한 제국헌법과 교육칙어를 분석하였다. 그리고 전시체제로의 이행에 있어 법률제정, 특히 치안유지법, 종교단체법의 제정과 공포를 통한 전시 총동원체제로 이르는 과정을 논했다. 이러한 과정 속에서 불교가들의 군국주의 이념의 생산, 특히 국체론에 초점을 맞추었다. 전시체제하에서의 불교의 수난과 저항은 적극적 저항으로써 신흥불교청년동맹을 언급하는 한편, 소극적 저항으로써 는 불교교단의 정체성 방어와 일반 불교인들의 저항을 특고(特高) 탄압사를 통해 논구하였다. 이러한 연구는 그 동안 충분히 다루지 못했던 일본불교계의 근대사, 특히 전시체제하의 불교의 동향을 들어내 객관적으로 조명하기 위한 것에 그 의미가 있다.
