The present paper sets out Kim's interpretationthe sutra and analectsin the development of his philosophy based on his "Sib Hyun Dam Yo Hae." In "Sib Hyun Dam Yo Hae", Kim Si Seup had classified Sib Hyun Dam into five sūtras namely Agama-sūtra, Vaipulya-sūtra, ahāprajñāpāramitā-sūtra, Saddharamapundarīka-sūtra, and Mahāparinirvāna-sūtra in a
similar manner to the Oshigyopan of Chuntae (here, the Oshigyopan refers to placingBuddha's teachings into five different categories andinterprets them as a unified philosophy), but he especially considered the doctrines of Saddharamapundarīka-sūtra and Mahāparinirvāna-sūtra as the center of the philosophy.Kim Si Seup displays the true methodology of Zen not by merely interpreting Buddha's basic principlesrelying his own but by either denying or
making paradoxical comments on the contents of the sutra rather than directly quoting them. Also, he appropriately describes the original contents of Sib Hyun Dam by citing the analects of Zen to "Sib Hyun Dam Yo Hae", and thus, clearly defines the doctrine of Zen. Following this,can be safely assumed that Kim Si Seup already possessed sufficient ability to develop his way of zen by freely using sūtra and the analects of Zen at the time when he wrote Sib Hyun Dam Yo Hae.

본고에서는 󰡔十玄談要解󰡕에서 金時習이 經典 및 禪語錄을 통해 자신의 思想을 어떻게 펼쳐나가는지 살펴보았다. 김시습은 天台의 五時敎判과 같이 『阿含經』․『方等經』․『般若經』․『法華經』과 『涅槃經』의 순서로 敎判하고 있었는데, 특히 김시습은 『법화경』과 『열반경』의 교의를 중추로 삼고 있었다. 김시습은 경전의 내용을 그대로 인용하기보다는 부정하거나 역설하는 방식으로써 부처의 본의를 알음알이로 헤아리는 것을 용납하지 않는 祖師禪의 진면목을 보여주고 있었다. 또한 禪語錄을 引用하여 ｢十玄談｣의 원문내용을 直截하게 표현함으로써 조사선의 요지를 분명하게 드러내고 있었다. 이러한 내용을 미루어 볼 때, 김시습은 ｢십현담요해｣를 저술할 당시에 이미 경전 및 선어록을 통해서 自由自在로 자신의 사상을 펼칠 수 있는 역량을 충분히 갖추고 있었음을 알 수 있을 것이다.
