An Experimental Study on the Influence of PVA Fiber and Aggregate on the Properties of Ductile Concrete
초록
영어
Development of various short fibers and study on the mechanism to reinforce cement and concrete by using short fiber are recently under rapid progress in order to create HPFRCCs (High Performance Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Composites) with unprecedented functions. However, HPFRCCs are at a disadvantage when it comes to economic efficiency because the composites are only used for some specific purposes-cement paste or mortar is used as matrix and the silica sand of a special size is used as fine aggregate for concrete. And it is also difficult to apply HPFRCCs to major structure because coarse aggregate is totally not used, lowering dry shrinkage and elastic modulus.
Hereupon, this study, with a purpose of developing HPFRCCs in consideration of the features of DFRCCs, could achieve the following results after reviewing fresh or hardened properties of HPFRCCs by using PVA fiber as per the maximum size of coarse aggregate and the ratio of fine aggregate.
It was confirmed that HPFRCCs had higher fluidity depending on how large the diameter of PVA fiber was, the strength and elastic modulus of the composites were enhanced in accordance with mixing of coarse aggregate, and the bending behavior and flexural toughness of HPFRCCs were excellent under the bending capacity as per mixing of PVA fibers. And it is considered
that an in-depth study of durability and fire resistance properties needs to be made as one of future research topics for practical application of structure.
