판소리 공연장의 음향설계에 관한 연구

A Research on the Acoustical Design of Pansori Theatre

Unlike the western music nor the other Korean traditional music, Pansori has its own distinctive performing features. This means that there is a need for an exclusive Pansori theatre. In this basis, an optimal acoustical design process and its final design are presented in the paper. Acoustical target in this study was proposed in a previous research, which was described in terms of three acoustic parameters, reverberation time, clarity and the distribution of sound pressure level. According to the result of acoustic simulation, despite a dry condition, reverberation time of 0.7 to 0.8 seconds, the final design has quite an adaptable distribution of sound pressure levels all around the audience seats. This is accomplished by the deliberately arranged reflectors installed above the stage and in front of Gosu(the drummer). General acoustic designing scheme is absorptive ceiling, rear wall and rear side lateral wall and reflective/diffusive front lateral walls for some lateral early reflections.
