This paper aims at the analysis and the changing pattern of the foreign relations of Germany after its unification toward the Central European countries focusing on Poland. Germany have kept its traditional basic principles regarding the foreign policy toward Europe after the W. W. II: maintenance of peace, prohibition of any aggressive war, open-cooperative internationalism, pursuit of the stability in Eastern and Central european countries, open system of international economy and european integration. These principles would not be changed for a while, although the status and the national strength of Germany had promoted after its reunification. Germany had tried to solve the rigid issues of its own reunification within the European integration and boundary in order to lessen the anxieties from the neighboring countries in Eastern and Central european countries. Furthermore Germany plays a key role as a forerunner to encourage the Eastern and Central european countries regarding joining and enlargement of the European Union. Among them the Poland was and is the most important country to Germany, because without the true reconciliation, developmental cooperation and mutual understanding between two countries, it is quite difficult to realize the stable situation especially surrounding Silesia.
