This study discuss instruction methods of a moral(values) story making and assessment methods to evaluate moral story written by students and their use in moral education. In the class of moral story making, firstly teachers give students a list of a particular value and virtue and have them each choose one to work with. second step is a freewriting. Students freewrite a story about this value. Third step is a value-focused rewriting. Students rewrite their story. Their story should illustrate their particular viewpoint, concept, experience, and feeling about this value. Fourth step are peer review and collaborative writing. at this step, students seek constructive feedback from their peers. Students share their moral story with a small group and receive peer review. peer comments should provide the moral story maker some direction for future work. Fifth step is remaking a moral story through their life story. The last step is an evaluation of moral story generated by student. To evaluate moral story valid, Seven trait analytical assessment scale is proposed. Seven traits of moral story include moral imagination, understanding of value and moral principle, moral inquiry, logical composition, moral persuasion, moral voice, moral commitment.

본 논문에서는 도덕 이야기 만들기 수업 방법과 평가 방안, 그리고 도덕교육에서의 활용방안을 중심적으로 논의하였다. 도덕 이야기 만들기 수업의 첫 번째 단계는 교사가 학생들에게 도덕적 글쓰기의 소재로 사용할 일련의 도덕적 가치나 덕목이 함축된 주제들을 선정하여 제시하고 특정 주제에 관해 자유롭게 쓰도록 하는 것이다. 두 번째 단계는 도덕적 딜레마에 초점을 두고 도덕 이야기를 다시 쓰는 과정이다. 세 번째 단계는 3-4명으로 이루어진 소집단에서 학생들이 자신이 구성한 도덕 이야기에 대해 동료들의 검토를 받고 동료들과 협력적으로 도덕 이야기를 재구성하도록 하는 것이다. 네 번째 단계는 자신의 이야기를 활용하여 다시 이야기를 구성하는 것이다. 그리고 마지막 단계가 학생들이 만든 도덕 이야기를 평가하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 학생들이 구성한 도덕 이야기를 평가하기 위한 평가 범주와 요소를 제안하였다. 도덕 이야기를 평가하는 범주 및 요소로서는 도덕적 상상력, 도덕적 가치나 원리의 이해, 도덕적 탐구, 논리적 구성, 도덕적 설득력, 도덕적 개성, 가치 헌신도라는 일곱 가지를 제시하였다.
