All men is to die. This is a unavoidable course of life which all men should take at the last stage of life so we should not pass over the fact that all individuals has right to end up their life in dignity, in addition to the right to live in dignity. Although most likely human’s main concern is focused on how to lift up the quality of living rather than how to die in dignity, the latter is one of immediate issues to be emphasized as same as the former has been.
The average span of a man’s life in Korea remarkably extended along with augmentation of National Income and improvement of National medical health care service. On the other hand, diverse terminal and chronic degenerative diseases including cancer, Heart disease, AIDS has been also increased, making it one of big social issues, ‘Care for dying people(with a limited life expectancy)’.
Under current social circumstances, Hospice business emerged as a new solution, providing more care and help to dying persons and their families in needs. As demands from clients of Hospice are complex and doesn’t have certain series of routine, it is necessary disciplinary members from different fields make jointed approach to meet the demands. Interdisciplinary members do each one’s job in organic system but only a few literatures have paid attention to this organic system.
The literature will reviews the historical development of Interdisciplinary together with its meaning as a professional service for dying persons and their families in needs.

인간은 누구나 죽는다. 누구나 인간답게 살 권리가 있듯이 한 생을 마감하는 과정에 있어서도 인간답
게 죽을 권리가 있다. 모든 사람들이 잘 사는 것에만 관심을 가지고 있지만 인간이 품위 있는 죽음을 맞
이하도록 하는 것은 그 이상으로 삶의 질 향상과 함께 가장 중요시 되어야 할 절실한 문제이다.
우리나라에서도 국민소득의 증가와 보건의료수준의 향상으로 인하여 평균수명이 현저하게 연장되면
서 암을 비롯한 각종만성퇴행성 질환이 증가하여 말기 환자의 진료와 간호가 커다란 사회문제로 부각되
고 있다.
이 같은 상황에서 죽음을 앞둔 사람과 그 가족에게 도움을 주는 호스피스 사업은 새로운 방법으로 자
리 잡아 가고 있다. 이러한 호스피스 사업에서 호스피스 대상자의 요구는 복잡하고 다양하기 때문에 여
러 분야에서 관여하여 그들의 요구를 충족시켜 주어야 한다. 이러한 다학제 간 팀의 구성원들은 상호 유
기적인 관계 속에서 각자 맡은 역할을 수행한다. 그러나 이러한 다학제 간 팀에 관한 연구는 많지 않은
실정이다.
본 연구에서는 호스피스에 대한 역사적 고찰과 함께 죽음을 앞둔 이들과 가족에의 위기상황에 대한
전문적인 서비스로서의 팀 접근에 대해 고찰해 보고자 한다.
