A number of political theorists in recent years have promoted the concept of modern democracy as an alternative to an interest-based democracy or aggregative democracy. Concerning a discussion about democracy, such as 'difference', 'disagreement', 'inclusion' have emerged as the important concepts. So the discussion of modern democracy should begin with reflection on modern reason. The most important issues here are the concepts of identification, recognition, minority, and difference. In the middle of these debates, locates Habermas's communicative action theory which bases on 'discussion' and 'deliberation'. The transformation from 'subject paradigm' to 'communicative paradigm' produces a basis on modern democracy debate. Because, first, communicative paradigm relies on 'the Other'. Second, the subject's transformation has relation to power.This paper aims to criticize is the first half of this article will be to criticize radical post-modern tendency. The other half will be reconstruct rightness of modern democracy. The validity of modern democracy differs from 'dividing' democracy, or 'disorganizing' democracy. The Divided society or the disorganized society, that is to say, the post-modern democracy doesn't make an alternative to our future society.
