The purpose of this study is to find out the need of the in-home care service, to examine the variables which have effects on the elder's care need, and to present influential factors contributing to the in-home care service. The survey participants were 70 elderly with disability
in community, whose ages were above 65.
The major results of this study were summarized as follows;
1. The disable and elderly people were not healthy, and the 95.5% of them had the state of the
disable to delay the development of disability through health care and social service.
2. The projects in the area referring to the disabled and elderly were developed in assistive
systems by home-helper without nursing care.
3. Their needs were to be provided in-home care service which is 'rehabilitative' or 'supportive
to nursing care'.
In future, in-home care service which is `rehabilitative' or `supportive to nursing care', need to
be based upon a medical need, enabling nursing care to be provided within the home setting of
the community.

본 조사는 재가 장애노인의 복지서비스 실태와 요구조사로서, 조사 참여자는 65세 이상의 지역사회 재가 장애노인 70명을 대상으로 하였으며, 설문조사는 복지관의 재가복지사가 직접 조사하였다. 조사기간은 2003년 4월1일에서 6월30일이며, 조사결과는 SPSS 통계처리(12.0)를 활용하였다. 조사 결과, 재가 장애노인으로서 복지서비스 제공으로 장애의 진행 정도를 늦출 수 있는 장애수준인 중증이하의 경우가 95.5%로 나타났지만, 조사 참여자의 3/4(75%)이 건강상태가 점점 나빠지고 있다고 인지하고 있었다. 현재 재가 장애노인에게 제공되고 있는 서비스의 내용이 수혜자들에게 잘 알려지고 있지 않을 뿐만 아니라 단순 생활도우미로서의 가정봉사가 주로 이루어지고 있음을 알 수 있다. 재가 장애노인이 요구하는 서비스 내용은, 재활 물리치료/방문간호 서비스에 대한 요구가 가장 많았다. 따라서 앞으로는 지역사회 기반으로 제공되는 간호서비스, 의료적인 서비스가 재가복지 서비스로 제공되어야 할 것이다. 그 밖에 재가 장애노인에게 신체이동의 불편해소를 위한 생활용구 제공이나 대여 서비스와 주택보수 서비스에 대한 수혜자의 요구는 있지만, 재가서비스에서는 대부분 제외되고 있는 부분으로 시급히 개선되어야 할 부분이다.
