The sudden change of our society has been influenced largely to the elderly. One of them is a problem related to sexuality of aged people. The purpose of this study is to review themes and
topics about sexuality of aged people by years and, to make many readers to have a revaluation
about sexuality of aged people which was misunderstood by traditional values. This article which
was studied since 1980, contained topics of sexual consciousness of aged people, sexual life and satisfaction, besides in 1990, dealt with sexual culture, life satisfaction, re-marriage, relationship, sexual rights, the reality of sexuality, and attitudes of institution officer, also after in 2000, studied themes of recognition level of sexual life, re-marriage of aged people, development of sex education program, quality of sexual life, sexual consciousness and prostitution, conflict of aged sexual life and so on.
As the result of this study, it is not a enough to cover full study of various thesis. Therefore,
this study suggests that the topics of aged sexuality needed to diversified various kind of research methodology and to developed & applied to aged society in near future.

우리 사회의 급격한 변화는 노인들에게 많은 영향을 주었다. 그 가운데 하나가 노인의 성문제이다. 본 연구는 지금까지 노인의 성에 대해 어떤 주제들이 다루어져 왔는지 연대별로 나누어 살펴보고 전통적인 가치관에 의해 왜곡된 노인의 성문제를 다루어 많은 사람들이 다시 깊게 생각하도록 하는데 목적이 있다.
1980년대부터 연구된 주제는 노인의 성의식, 성과 생활만족에 관한 연구이며 1990년대는 성문화, 생활만족도, 재혼, 성생활상태, 이성교재, 성적 권리, 시설종사자의 태도, 2000년대에 주제는 성생활인식도, 노인의 재혼, 성교육 프로그램개발, 삶의 질과 성, 성의식과 성매매, 노년기 성 갈등, 성적 권리, 등 다양한 주제들이 연구되어 왔다.
위의 연도별 연구동향을 보면,노인의 성에대한 연구는 주제의 다양성과 세분화된 연구들이 미흡하였다. 따라서 노령화사회에 걸맞는 다양한 관점에서 체계화된 연구결과들이 나오도록 연구방법의 개발 및 적용이 이루어져야 하겠다.
