In this paper, I explain the macro-system of the electronic dictionary which are being built in the 21st Sejong Project of Korean Ministry of Culture & Tourism. The Sejong electronic dictionary consists of cheeon(in Korean) dictionary—which is again composed of proper noun dictionary, simple noun dictionary, complex noun dictionary, defective noun‧numerals‧pronoun dictionary, root‧suffix dictionary, yongeon(in Korean) dictionary, adverb dictionary, josa(in Korean)‧ending dictionary, adnominals dictionary, exclamation dictionary, collocation dictionary, idiomatic expression dictionary, complex noun phrase dictionary, special word dictionary. In addition, I discuss some significances and problems of the Sejong electronic dictionary.
