The technical level of chatting extends to the whole space of Computer Mediated Communication, CMC. As CMC environments get into our society as a tool for human communication and a huge field, the influence of chatting is also strong. In such background, the inquiry intends to verify through the users' personal relations that the cyber space to the chatting users is no longer a virtual one but a real one. Thus, it intends to reconsider the existing technical image design concept of the chatting space.

채팅의 기술적인 차원이 컴퓨터 매개 커뮤니케이션(Computer Mediated Communication, CMC)의 공간 전체에 미치고 있다. CMC 환경이 인간의 커뮤니케이션 도구이자 거대한 장(field)으로서 사회에 깊숙하게 침투해 있는 이상, 채팅의 영향력 또한 강력하다. 이런 배경 하에서 본 연구는 채팅이용자들에게 있어서 사이버공간은 더 이상 가상적인 공간이 아니라 현실적 공간일 수 있다는 사실을 이용자의 대인관계를 통해 검증한다. 이로써 채팅공간에 대한 기존의 기술적 영상디자인의 개념을 재고하고자 한다.
