In times of political crisis, news photographs function as frames that signify events or figures in specific ways, potentially influencing voters' political perceptions and interpretive processes. This study focused on the political crisis surrounding President Yoon Suk-yeol, analyzing a total of 683 news photographs from the Chosun Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo, Hankyoreh, and Kyunghyang Shinmun. Utilizing LLaMA4, a large language model (VLM), as an analytical tool, the study enabled the recognition of editing styles, locations, facial expressions, gazes, and gestures. This allowed the description of the photographs’ subjects and contextual meanings. Additionally, the VLM analysis results were analyzed using BERTopic modeling to comprehensively grasp discursive themes and framing tendencies. Analysis of the volume of coverage over time revealed statistically significant differences depending on the media outlet. Topic modelling analysis indicated that all media outlets covered the common issue of the declaration of martial law and subsequent judicial and institutional procedures, but distinct differences emerged in their reporting tendencies. The Chosun Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo focused their coverage on the President's actions and the process of executing the procedures, whereas The Hankyoreh and The Kyunghyang Shinmun tended to report structurally, centring on the relationships between political actors. The findings suggest that as the issue progressed, media outlets tended to form distinct frames based on their respective ideological identities rather than reporting the process within a shared context.

정치적 위기 상황에서 언론의 보도사진은 사건이나 인물의 특정 방식을 의미화하는 프레임으로 작동하며, 유권자의 정치적 인식과 해석 과정에 영향 을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구는 윤석열 대통령의 정치적 위기 상황을 중심으로, 《조선일보》, 《동아일보》, 《한겨레》, 《경향신문》의 보도사진 총 683건을 분석 하였다. 대규모 언어 모델을 기반으로 하는 VLM인 LLaMA4를 분석 도구로 활용하여 편집 방식과 장소, 얼굴 표정, 시선, 동작을 인식하게 하여 이를 통 해 사진의 주제와 맥락적 의미를 기술하도록 하였다. 또한 VLM 분석 내용을 BERTopic 모델링으로 분석하여 담론적 주제와 프레임 경향을 종합적으로 파악하였다. 시기에 따른 보도량 분석 결과 언론사에 따라 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다 토픽 모델링 분석 결과 모든 언론사는 비상계엄 선포와 이후 . , 사법적 제도적 절차라는 공통된 사안을 다루고 있었으나 보도경향에는 뚜렷 , 한 차이가 나타났다. 《조선일보》와 《동아일보》는 대통령의 행위와 절차의 수 행 과정을 중심으로 보도한 반면, 《한겨레》와 《경향신문》은 정치적 행위자 간 의 관계를 중심으로 구조적으로 보도하려는 경향을 보였다 연구 결과는 사 . 안이 진행되면서 언론사들이 과정을 동일한 맥락에서 보도하기보다 각 언론 이 지닌 이념적 정체성에 따른 상이한 프레임을 형성하는 경향이 있음을 시사한다.
