This study employed a content analysis design to comprehensively explore the experiences of suicide prevention program coordinators working at community mental health welfare centers in relation to their professional encounters with individuals at risk of suicide. The purpose of the study was to provide foundational data for the development of effective suicide prevention strategies. Data were collected from 15 coordinators between September and October 2023. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative content analysis method. Based on a review of relevant literature, the findings were classified into four major domains: experiences related to suicide attempts, experiences of overcoming suicidal crises, suicide prevention strategies across the life cycle, and future directions for suicide prevention. From these domains, 25 categories, 67 subcategories, and 198 meaningful statements were derived. The results of this study suggest practical implications for strengthening current suicide prevention initiatives and supporting recovery among suicide attempters. Further research is recommended to expand and validate these findings.

본 연구는 내용분석 연구로 지역사회 정신건강복지센터에서 자살예방사업 담당자로 대상자의 자살에 대한 업무 과정에서 경험을 포괄적으로 파악하고 그에 따른 자살예방 대책을 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 실시되었다. 자료수집은 2023년 9월부터 10월까지 담당자 15명을 대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 질적 내용분석 연구방법을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 관련 문헌고찰을 바탕으로, 업무 중 대상자의 자살시도와 관련된 경험, 자살극복 경험, 생애주기별 대책, 향후 자살예방 대책의 4가지 영역으로 분류하 여 분석하여 25개 범주, 67개 하위범주 198개의 의미있는 진술로 분류되었다. 본 연구 결과는 현재 시행되고 있는 자살 예방 사업을 강화하고, 자살시도자의 극복을 도모하기 위한 지역사회 기반 자원에 대한 체계적인 연계 및 활용에 있어 경제적 자립을 지원하는 공적 제도의 활용의 실질적인 시사점을 제시하며, 이러한 연구 결과를 확장하고 검증하기 위한 후속연구가 필요할 것이다.
