This study examines the sequential mediating effects of online social participation and digital device efficacy on the relationship between digital assistance experiences and life satisfaction among middle-aged and older adults. Data from 1,938 participants in the 2024 Digital Divide Survey were analyzed using the GLM-Mediation module in Jamovi. The findings were as follows. (i) Positive digital assistance experiences significantly increased levels of online social participation, digital device self-efficacy, and life satisfaction. (ii) Online social participation and digital device self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between digital assistance and life satisfaction. (iii) Sequential mediation effect was identified, wherein online social participation enhanced digital device self-efficacy, which subsequently improved life satisfaction. This study contributes to the existing literature by expanding the understanding of mechanisms through which digital assistance impacts life satisfaction in aging populations. The results underscore the importance of fostering digital inclusion through community-based education programs, highlighting the practical implications for policies aimed at reducing the digital divide.

본 연구는 중고령자를 대상으로 디지털 조력 경험이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 온라인 사회참여 와 디지털 기기 자기효능감의 순차적 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2024년 디지털 정보격차 실태조사에 참여한 중고령자 1,938명의 데이터를 Jamovi의 GLM-Mediation 모듈로 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. (i) 디지털 조력 경험이 긍정적일수록 온라인 사회참여, 디지털 기기 자기효능감, 그리고 삶의 만족도가 유의하게 증가하였다. (ii) 온라인 사회참여와 디지털 기기 자기효능감은 디지털 조력과 삶의 만족도 간 관계를 부분 매개하였다. (iii) 온라인 사회참여는 디지털 기기 자기효능감을 향상시켜 삶의 만족도를 높이는 순차적 매개효과를 보였다. 본 연구는 디지털 조력 이 고령층의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 기제를 규명함에 학술적 의의가 있으며, 지역사회 기반 디지털 교육 프로그램의 필요성을 강조함으로써 디지털 격차 해소를 위한 정책적 시사점을 제공한다.
