Recently, the implementation strategy for promoting the circular economy has been attracting attention, but in Korea, there is a lack of research on applying or analyzing it at the regional industrial and spatial level. This study aims to classify regional industries in korea based on the concept of the circular economy and to identify the spatial distribution characteristics of each industry type. To this end, twelve regional industries were selected based on the 9R strategies for implementing the circular economy, and factor analysis was conducted to classify them into distinct types. The results show that regional industries in Korea can be categorized into three types: S-M-L Loops, Shortest Loops, and Long Loops. These types form distinct clusters depending on spatial characteristics: S-M-L Loops are concentrated near major metropolitan areas, Shortest Loops are centered in core urban regions, and Long Loops are distributed in the Honam, Chungcheong, and Jeju regions. Based on these results, implementation strategies and policy implications for the transition to a circular economy were proposed.

최근 순환경제 촉진을 위한 실천전략이 주목받고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 이를 지역 산업 및 공간적 차원에서 적용하거나 분석한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 순환경제 개념에 기반하여 우리나라 지역 산업을 유형화하며, 산업 유형별 공간적 분포 특성을 파악하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 순환경 제 실천전략(9R)에 기반하여 12개 지역산업을 선정하고 요인분석을 통해 유형화하였다. 공간 자기상관분 석을 통해 유형별 공간적 분포와 클러스터 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 우리나라 지역산업은 S-M-L Loops형, Shortest Loops형, Long Loops형 세 가지로 분류되었다. 각 유형은 공간적 특성에 따라 클러스터 를 형성하고 있었다. S-M-L Loops형은 대도시 인근에, Shortest Loops형은 대도심에, Long Loops형은 호남·충청·제주에 집중 분포 하였다. 이러한 결과를 기초로 순환경제 전환을 위한 실행 전략과 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.
