This paper employs Bakhtin's carnival theory as an analytical framework to investigate the innovative transformation of Chinese traditional orchestral concerts from a unidirectional transmission model to an interactive, audience-engaged performance paradigm. Through literature review, historical analysis, and case studies, it is found that recent works in Chinese traditional orchestral music have increasingly sought to attenuate the conventional performer-audience dichotomy by incorporating popular themes and designing participatory mechanisms within concert settings. The research argues that such practices draw upon and partially embody the core principles of carnival theory—namely, the dissolution of hierarchies and the pursuit of egalitarian participation. These developments can be interpreted as an innovative pathway through which folk music evolves from a relatively insulated stage art toward a more public-oriented cultural form. This carnivalesque performance model offers a viable approach for balancing artistic integrity with popular accessibility in the contemporary cultural context of traditional music.

본 논문은 바흐친의 카니발 이론을 분석 프레임워크로 삼아 중국 민족 관현악 콘서트가 단방향 전달 공 연 모델에서 관객 참여형 모델로 혁신하는 과정을 탐구한다. 문헌 검토, 역사적 분석 및 사례 연구를 바탕으로 본 논문은 최근 일부 중국 민족 관현악 작품들이 통속적인 소재를 도입하고 공연 현장에서 관객 참여 메커니즘을 설 계함으로써 기존의 단일한 관객-연주자 관계를 점차 약화시키고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 실천이 경 계를 허물고 평등한 참여를 지향하는 카니발 이론의 정신적 핵심을 참조하면서 이를 부분적으로 구현하고 있다고 판단한다. 이는 민족 음악이 비교적 폐쇄적인 무대 예술에서 보다 공공성을 지닌 문화적 형식으로 발전해 나가는 하나의 혁신적인 경로로 해석될 수 있다. 나아가 이러한 카니발적 특징을 지닌 공연 모델은 현대 문화의 맥락 속 에서 민족 음악이 예술성과 대중성의 균형을 모색하는 데 있어 실질적으로 가능한 방향성을 제시한다.
