This study aimed to examine the effects of adolescents’ smartphone dependence on cyber delinquency through different types of smartphone use (relational, instrumental, and entertainment use), and to investigate the moderating effect of parental autonomy support, thereby deriving implications for social welfare practice. The study utilized data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute. Among the most recent wave (Wave 7, 2024), which followed a cohort of fourth-grade elementary school students from 2018 to their first year of high school, a total of 2,090 adolescents (1,050 boys and 1,040 girls) with no missing values on key variables were included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26 and the PROCESS macro, including reliability analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and tests of mediation and moderation effects. The results indicated that smartphone dependence significantly increased both instrumental and entertainment use. However, instrumental use was negatively associated with cyber delinquency, whereas entertainment use was positively associated with cyber delinquency. Furthermore, parental autonomy support significantly moderated the relationship between smartphone dependence and each type of smartphone use, weakening the effects of smartphone dependence on these usage types. By clarifying the differential pathways linking smartphone dependence to cyber delinquency through specific usage purposes and demonstrating the protective role of parental autonomy support, this study provides meaningful implications for prevention and intervention strategies.

본 연구는 청소년의 스마트폰 의존이 여러 가지 스마트폰 사용 목적 유형을 매개하여 사이버비행에 미치 는 영향, 그리고 자율성 지지의 조절효과를 검증하여 사회복지학적 시사점을 도출하는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이 를 위해 청소년정책개발원에서 조사한 한국아동청소년패널 자료를 분석 자료로 활용하였고, 2018년 2차 조사를 시 작하여 초등학교 4학년 자료는 현재 2024년 7차 자료(고등학교 1학년)가 최신 자료이며, 본 연구는 해당 자료 중 주요변수의 결측값이 존재하지 않는 응답자 남자 1,050명, 여자 1,040명 총 2,090명을 최종 대상으로 SPSS 26 프 로그램과 PROCESS macro 모형을 활용하였고, 신뢰도분석, 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석, 매개효과 및 조절효과 모형을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 스마트폰 의존은 도구적 사용과 오락적 사용을 모두 증가시켰으나, 도구 적 사용은 사이버비행에 부적 영향을, 오락적 사용은 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 자율성 지지는 스마트폰 의존이 각 사용 목적 유형에 미치는 영향을 유의하게 약화시키는 조절효과를 보였다. 이에 본 연 구는 스마트폰 의존과 사이버비행 간의 관계를 사용 목적 유형을 통해 구체화하고, 부모의 자율성 지지의 보호효 과를 실증함으로써 예방 및 개입을 위한 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.
