This study aims to analyze research trends from 2013 to 2024 published in KCI-registered and candidate journals for registration in Korea, focusing on middle school character education, a topic that has recently been emphasized. The final data analysis target was 102 articles, and a frequency analysis was conducted. The research results derived from this process are as follows. First, the results of the analysis of research trends by year showed that there were 13 articles in 2013, 12 articles each in 2017 and 2019, 11 articles in 2018, and 9 articles each in 2021 and 2024. Second, the order of publication by journal was Learner-Centered Curriculum Education Research, Korean Journal of Home Economics Education, Curriculum Education Research, and Korean Journal of Science Education. Third, by research purpose, the order was basic research, impact and effectiveness, development, and development and application. Fourth, by subject, the order was character, art, science, technology/home economics, and physical education. Fifth, by research subject, the order was students, literature, and teachers. Sixth, by research method, the order was quantitative research, literature review, and qualitative research. Future research requires expanding academic journals capable of systematic and intensive research on character education, expanding the scope of research on the practical effects of character education, and conducting integrated research. In particular, a holistic educational approach that considers both intellectual and affective characteristics of students is necessary.

이 연구는 최근 강조되고 있는 중학교 인성교육을 연구하기 위하여 KCI 국내 등재와 등재후보 학 술지에 게재된 2013-2024년의 연구 동향을 분석하는 것이다. 이 결과는 중학교 인성교육을 위한 기 초자료를 제공할 것으로 본다. 최종 자료 분석 대상은 102편이었으며, 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 이 과 정을 통해 도출된 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연도별 연구 동향의 분석 결과, 2013년 13편, 2017 년 및 2019년 각각 12편, 2018년 11편, 2021년 및 2024년 각각 9편 등의 순이었으며, 둘째, 학술지별 로는 학습자중심교과교육연구, 한국가정교육학회지, 교과교육연구 및 한국과학교육학회지 등의 순으 로 게재되었다. 셋째, 연구목적별로는 기초연구, 영향 및 효과, 개발, 개발 및 적용 등의 순이었으며, 넷째, 교과별로는 인성, 예술, 과학, 기술·가정 및 체육 등의 순이었다. 다섯째, 연구 대상별로는 학생, 문헌, 교사 등의 순이었으며, 여섯째, 연구 방법별로는 양적 연구, 문헌 연구, 질적 연구 등의 순이었 다. 앞으로의 연구에서는 인성교육을 체계적, 집중적으로 연구할 수 있는 학술지의 확대, 인성교육의 실제적 효과, 연구 대상의 확대, 통합 연구 수행 등이 요구된다. 특히, 학생의 지적 특성과 정의적 특 성을 모두 고려한 홀리스틱 교육접근이 필요하다.
