Singapore and the Republic of Korea maintain robust economic and legal relations. Despite this active engagement, Singapore’s legal system remains relatively underexamined in Korean legal scholarship. As cross-border interactions with Singapore continue to expand, it is inevitable that the number of disputes arising from such interactions will also increase. Accordingly, a systematic introduction to and examination of Singapore’s legal framework is necessary to facilitate effective dispute resolution. This Article examines Singapore’s civil enforcement procedures as one component of its broader legal system. As a preliminary matter, it first outlines the structure of Singapore’s judicial system, which may be unfamiliar to Korean practitioners and scholars. It then analyzes key mechanisms and institutional features of Singapore’s civil enforcement regime. Finally, this Article briefly explores the implications and potential lessons that Singapore’s civil enforcement procedures may offer for the development and operation of Korea’s civil enforcement system.

싱가포르와 한국은 경제적으로나 법적으로 상호 활발한 교류를 이어가고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 싱가포르의 법제도에 대해서는 그간 자세히 알려지지 아니한 상태이며, 싱가포르와의 교류가 활발할수록 교류에 수반되는 분쟁이 증가할 것은 분명한 사실이므로 이에 대비하기 위해서라도 싱가포르 법제도 전반에 대한 소개와 검토가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. 이 글에서는 싱가포르의 여러 법제도 중에서 싱가포르의 민사집행절차에 대해 살펴보고자 하며, 우선 논의의 전제로서 우리에게 다소 낯선 싱가포르의 사법구조에 대해 우선 살펴보고, 다음으로 싱가포르의 민사집행절차에 대해 여러 민사집행절차 상의 제도를 중심으로 하여 살펴보고자 한다. 마지막으로는 싱가포르의 민사집행절차가 우리 민사집행절차에 줄 수 있는 시사점이 무엇인지를 간략히 검토하고자 한다.
