The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of work characteristics, leisure activities, and social networks on overall life satisfaction among employed single-person households and to verify the mediating effects of domain-specific satisfaction, including overall job satisfaction, leisure utilization satisfaction, and personal relationship satisfaction. For this purpose, data from the 2023 Korean Social Survey conducted by Statistics Korea were utilized. The main findings are as follows: First, among the sociodemographic characteristics analyzed in this study, age group, education level, residential area, and household income were found to have significant effects on life satisfaction. In particular, middle-aged and low-income employed single-person households reported relatively lower levels of life satisfaction. Regarding work characteristics, wage satisfaction and job content satisfaction showed strong positive effects on life satisfaction, and overall job satisfaction partially mediated these relationships. In terms of leisure activities, only everyday activities (e.g., reading) had a significant effect on life satisfaction, while leisure utilization satisfaction partially or fully mediated the relationship between leisure characteristics and life satisfaction. In addition, within social networks, the presence of relationships that provide practical support significantly enhanced life satisfaction, and the mediating effect of personal relationship satisfaction was confirmed. These findings suggest that life satisfaction among employed single-person households is shaped within an interconnected structure encompassing work, leisure, and social relationships. The results highlight the need for an integrated policy approach focused on improving job quality, supporting everyday leisure activities, and strengthening practical social networks.

본 연구의 목적은 취업 1인 가구를 대상으로 일, 여가생활 및 사회적 관계망의 특성이 전반적인 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이들 관계에서 영역별 만족도(전반적인 일자리 만족도, 여가활용 만족도, 개인적 인간관계 만족도)의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2023년 통계청 사회조사 자료를 활용하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 연령대, 교육 수준, 거주지역, 가구소득 등 사회인구학적 특성이 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 특히 중년층과 저소득층 취업 1인 가구의 삶의 만족도가 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 일 특성과 관련해서는 임금 만족도와 하는 일 만족도가 삶의 만족도에 강한 정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 전반적인 일자리 만족도는 이들 관계를 부분 매개하였다. 여가생활에서는 독서와 같은 일상적 여가 활동만이 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 여가활용 만족도는 여가생활 특성과 삶의 만족도 간의 관계를 부분 또는 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 사회적 관계망에서는 실질적인 도움을 주고받을 수 있는 관계의 존재가 삶의 만족도를 높였으며, 개인적 인간관계 만족도의 매개효과가 확인되었다. 이에, 취업 1인 가구의 삶의 만족도는 일, 여가생활 및 사회적 관계까지 상호 연계된 구조 속에서 형성됨을 시사하며, 정책적으로 일자리의 질 제고, 일상적 여가 지원, 실질적 관계망 강화를 중심으로 한 통합적 접근의 필요성을 제기한다.
