This paper examines the missional directions of the Korean-Contextualized Missional Church from the perspective of critical contextualization, a key paradigm in contemporary missiology. To clarify the theological and missiological foundations of critical contextualization, the study analyzes and interprets the perspectives of Charles Kraft and Paul G. Hiebert on Christianity and culture, mission, and cultural anthropology, and situates the Korean church as a missional community participating in Missio Dei. The discussion focuses on five major societal conditions shaping the contemporary Korean context: (1) population structure, (2) the socio-cultural and economic structures of local communities, (3) religious and cultural pluralism, (4) developments in science and technological civilization, and (5) climate and environmental challenges. The study argues that the missional church movement, which emerged primarily in Europe and North America, requires contextual reinterpretation and adaptive application within the Korean socio-cultural setting, including pastoral and structural adjustments responsive to local realities. On this basis, the study proposes five core missional directions for the Korean-Contextualized Missional Church: (1) an age-friendly mission approach grounded in public–private cooperation; (2) a partnership-oriented mission that connects generations, particularly the next generation as a “connected generation”; (3) a care- and participation-oriented mission toward socially vulnerable groups; (4) an interaction- and solidarity-oriented mission that promotes coexistence and mutual flourishing; and (5) a life-oriented mission emphasizing ecological spirituality and green church movements. These directions reflect a holistic and integrative understanding of mission consistent with critical contextualization theology in contemporary missiology. Furthermore, this study adopts a cross-cultural analytical framework that engages four fundamental dimensions of human existence—biological, psychological, spiritual, and socio-cultural—to articulate mission as a universal cultural function that resonates beyond particular cultural boundaries. In doing so, it interprets “Korean-contextualized” not as a narrow regional label, but as a theologically informed engagement with Korea’s distinctive cultural superstructure within a global missional horizon. Although the practical implementation of all proposed directions may be challenging for local churches, this study offers meaningful insights into the significance of the Korean-Contextualized Missional Church, the practical applicability of contemporary missiology, and the need for ongoing pastoral and theological reflection in response to societal transformation.

본고는 현대선교신학이 중시하는 비판적 상황화 선교를 위해 한국형 선교적 교회의 선교 방향을 제시한다. 비판적 상황화 선교에 대한 이해로는 찰스 크래프트와 폴 히 버트의 기독교와 문화, 선교와 문화 인류학적 관점을 분석·이해하고, 하나님의 선교를 위한 상황적 공동체로서 한국 교회의 선교 방향을 탐구한다. 여기에서 방향 탐구는 ‘한국형 선교적 교회’라는 용어가 말해주듯 우리 사회에 두드러진 다섯 가지 현황을 선별하여 살핀다. 그것은 첫째, 인구 구조, 둘째, 지역사회 문화경제 구조, 셋째, 다원 주의, 넷째, 과학기술 문명, 다섯째, 기후 환경에 대한 실질적 분석이다. 이를 통해 유 럽과 북미에서 발전한 선교적 교회 운동이 한국 상황에 적합하게 적용될 수 있거나 현실적 필요에 따라 목회적 변화 시도가 이루어져야 함을 주장한다. 이런 의도에서 본고는 다음의 다섯 가지 주요 선교 방향을 도출한다. 그것은 첫째, 민관 협력을 통한 고령친화적 방향, 둘째, ‘다음 세대’를 ‘이음세대’로 연결하는 동반자적 방향, 셋째, 사 회적 취약계층을 향한 돌봄과 참여의 방향, 넷째, 공존을 넘어 상생을 위한 교류와 연 대의 방향, 다섯째, 생태 영성과 녹색 교회를 위한 생명 운동적 방향이다. 이 다섯 가지 주제는 현대선교신학의 총체적이면서 통전적인 관점에서 비판적 상황화 신학에 부 합하는 포괄적 선교 주제를 탐색한 결과이기도 하다. 특히 본고는 비교문화학적 접근 으로 인간 공통에 관한 이론을 제시하는데, 이는 네 가지 인간 경험의 대표적 요소인 생물학적, 심리학적, 영적, 사회문화적 경험에 근거한다. 이로써 본고는 한 사회 내 문 화적 차이를 극복하면서 대중에게 호소할 수 있는 보편적 문화 기능으로서 한국형 선 교적 교회의 선교 방향에 초점을 맞춘다. 왜냐하면 보편적 문화 기능으로서의 접근은 사회의 필요를 대변함과 동시에 본질적으로 인간 공통의 문화적 상부구조에 대한 이 해를 바탕으로 하기 때문이다. 이런 이유로 한국형 선교적 교회라는 거시적·포괄적 시각에서 한국 사회의 정황 탐구는 필요하며, 이러한 주제와 연관한 목회신학적·선교 신학적 접근은 ‘한국형’의 의미가 무엇인지 일러준다. 하지만 교회의 현실적 제약으로 모든 방향의 실행 어려움도 간과할 수 없다. 그럼에도 본고는 한국형 선교적 교회의 의미와 현대선교신학적 실천 가능성, 그리고 현실적 변화로 인한 필요적 성찰로서 비 판적 상황화 선교를 위한 한국 교회의 목회신학적 패러다임 전환에 유용한 통찰을 제공한다.
