Although research on gifted students with learning disabilities has been discussed across both the fields of gifted education and special education, the literature remains insufficiently systematized in terms of conceptual definitions, identification criteria, and the accumulation of empirical evidence. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively review research trends on gifted students with learning disabilities and to suggest directions for future research. To this end, a total of 36 domestic and international studies published between 2004 and 2024 were selected and analyzed. Based on the content, purposes, and methodologies of the studies, the literature was categorized into five thematic areas: identification studies, characteristic studies, developmental studies, program studies, and case studies. The results indicated that research in this field has been largely concentrated on issues of identification and the analysis of characteristics, whereas studies examining developmental mechanisms, long-term trajectories, and in-depth analyses of individual cases remain relatively scarce. Based on these findings, this study emphasizes the need to enhance the conceptual coherence of gifted students with learning disabilities and to ensure continuity in research accumulation. It further suggests that future research should focus on the development of identification systems that integratively consider cognitive and emotional characteristics, the expansion of longitudinal studies adopting a developmental perspective, and the promotion of empirical and case-based research closely connected to educational practice.

이 연구는 영재교육과 특수교육 분야에서 동시에 논의되어 왔음에도 불구하고, 개념 정의와 판별 기준, 연구 축적의 측면에서 여전히 체계화가 미흡한 학습장애영재 연구의 동향을 종합 적으로 검토하고, 향후 연구의 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2004년부터 2024년까 지 국내외에서 발표된 학습장애영재 관련 연구 36편을 선정하여 분석하였으며, 연구의 내용 과 목적, 방법을 종합적으로 고려하여 학습장애영재 판별 연구, 특성 연구, 발달 연구, 프로 그램 연구, 사례연구의 다섯 가지 주제로 분류하였다. 분석 결과, 학습장애영재 연구는 판별 과 특성 분석에 집중된 경향을 보이는 반면, 발달적 기제와 장기적 경로를 다룬 연구와 실제 사례를 심층적으로 분석한 연구는 상대적으로 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대 로 학습장애영재의 개념적 정합성과 연구 축적의 연속성을 확보할 필요성을 강조하고, 향후 연구에서는 인지적, 정서적 특성을 통합적으로 고려한 판별 체계, 발달적 관점의 종단 연구, 그리고 실제 교육 현장과 연계된 실증 및 사례 연구의 확대가 요구됨을 제안하고자 한다.
