This study examined the effect of perceived community safety on psychological well-being among early adolescents in upper elementary school (Grades 4–6) and explored the mediating roles of school satisfaction and relationship satisfaction. Using data from the Study on Indicators and Development of a Happy Community for Youth VII conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute, 2,463 upper elementary school students (Grades 4–6) were included in the analysis after excluding incomplete responses. The results showed that perceived community safety positively influenced psychological well-being, and both school satisfaction and relationship satisfaction partially mediated this relationship. These findings highlight the importance of safe community environments and supportive school and interpersonal relationships in promoting adolescents’ psychological well-being.

본 연구는 초기 청소년의 지역사회 안전 인식이 심리적 안녕감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 검증하고 두 변수 간의 영향 관계에서 학교생활 및 대인관계 만족도가 매개역할을 하는지 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 분석자료는 한국청소년정 책연구원 실시한 「청소년이 행복한 지역사회 지표조사 및 조성사업 연구Ⅶ」자료를 기반으로 조사에 응답한 초등학교 고학년 (4~6학년) 2,470명 중 무응답을 제외한 2,463명을 연구대상으로 설정하여 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역사회 안전 인식은 심리적 안녕감에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 지역사회 안전 인식과 심리 적 안녕감의 영향 관계에서 학교생활 만족도와 대인관계 만족도는 부분 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 결과를 토대로 초기 청소년의 심리적 안녕감 증진을 위한 지역사회 안전 및 학교･사회복지시설 연계 정책 개발에 실증적 근거를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
