This study was conducted to examine the effects of perceived social capital on the quality of life of individuals with mental illness and to provide policy implications for enhancing their quality of life based on social capital. To this end, a survey was conducted with 111 users of psychiatric rehabilitation facilities in Seoul, and the collected data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that among the sub-dimensions of social capital, participation(β=.300, p<.05), and trust(β=.292, p<.05) had statistically significant effects on quality of life. These findings suggest that social environmental interventions that promote social participation and the formation of trust are essential for improving the quality of life of individuals with mental illness. Based on the results, this study proposes effective support strategies for enhancing social capital, as well as various practical and policy-oriented approaches aimed at improving the quality of life of individuals with mental illness.

본 연구는 정신장애인이 지각한 사회적 자본이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 정신장애인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 사회적 자본 기반의 정책적 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울지역 정신재활시설의 정신장애인 111명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 다중회귀분석을 통해 실시하였다. 연구결과, 정신장애인의 사회 적 자본의 하위변인 중 참여(β=.300, p<.05)와 신뢰(β=.292, p<.05)가 삶의 질에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었 다. 이러한 결과는 정신장애인의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 사회적 참여와 신뢰형성을 촉진하는 사회환경적 개입의 중요성을 시사 한다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 정신장애인의 삶의 질 향상 측면에서 사회적 자본의 효율적 지원방안 및 삶의 질을 높일 수 있 는 실천적이고 정책적인 다양한 방안에 대해 제안하였다.
