This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of basic psychological needs on the relationship between parenting attitudes and career maturity as perceived by early adolescents. A self-report questionnaire was administered to 412 fifth and sixth grade elementary school students in Jeju Island. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and Process Macro. Results revealed a significant positive relationship among parenting attitudes, basic psychological needs, and career maturity. Basic psychological needs partially mediated the relationship between parenting attitudes and career maturity. This suggests that early adolescents' career maturity is closely related to not only environmental factors but also the satisfaction of psychological needs. Therefore, we propose the development of a group counseling program focused on basic psychological needs in elementary school career education and counseling.

본 연구는 초기청소년이 지각한 부모양육태도와 진로성숙도의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 제주도 내 초등학교 5·6학년 학생 412명을 대상으로 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였으며, SPSS 22.0과 Process Macro를 활용해 분석하였다. 그 결과, 부모양육태도, 기본심리욕구, 진로성숙도 간에는 유의한 정적 관계가 나타났고, 기본심리욕구는 부모양육태도와 진로성숙도 의 관계를 부분 매개하였다. 이는 초기청소년의 진로성숙이 환경적 요인뿐 아니라 심리적 욕구 충족과 밀접하게 관련됨을 보여준다. 이 에 초등학교 진로교육 및 진로상담에서 기본심리욕구를 중심으로 한 집단상담 프로그램 개발을 제안한다.
