This experiment aims to explore the effect and therapeutic experience of person-centered group art therapy, on improving sociability among out-of-school youth. For this, a 12-session program was conducted to four out-of-school youth. Data were collected via session observation logs, artwork, and in-depth interviews. The interviews were analyzed using Thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006). Results show that the participants' self-understanding and expression were enhanced, and their interaction and emotional exchange within the group were facilitated. And five overarching themes were extracted from the herapeutic experience, including self-understanding, other-understanding, and social relationship formation, etc. This study demonstrates that person-centered group art therapy effectively promotes the development of sociability in out-of-school youth.

본 연구는 인간중심 미술치료에 기반한 집단미술치료가 학교 밖 청소년의 사회성 향상에 미치는 효과와 치료적 경험을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 학교 밖 청소년 4명을 대 상으로 12회기 프로그램을 실시하였으며，회기 관찰일지，작품，심층면담 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석에는 Braun고］* Clarke(2006)의 주제분석 방법을 적용하였다. 그 결과 참여자들은 자 기이해와 표현이 증진되고，집단 내 상호작용과 정서 교류가 활발해졌으며，치료적 경험은 자 기이해，타인이해，사회적 관계 형성 등 5개의 상위 주제로 도출되었다. 본 연구는 인간중심 집단미술치료가 학교 밖 청소년의 사회성 발달을 촉진하는 근거를 제시한다.
