This article re-examines the interpretive challenges surrounding Ezekiel 40-48 and offers an integrated theological and homiletical reading of the prophet’s climactic temple vision. After critically surveying major interpretive traditions-allegorical, literal-futurist, symbolic-literary, and theological-eschatological-the study adopts a redemptive-historical and typological approach that incorporates the strengths of these perspectives while avoiding the historical constraints of literalism and the abstraction of pure symbolism. Within this framework, the temple measurements, sacrificial regulations, priestly and princely roles, the river of life, and the apportionment of land are analyzed as coherent elements of a unified theological pattern centered on the restoration of divine presence and the expansion of holiness. The study further explores how Ezekiel’s temple vision is received and transformed in the New Testament, where it finds fulfillment in Christ’s temple ministry, the outpouring of the Spirit, and the eschatological vision of the New Jerusalem. Particular attention is given to the homiletical significance of this interpretation, arguing that Ezekiel 40-48 should be preached not as a technical blueprint or a moralizing vision but as a proclamation of God’s prior and gracious activity that summons the community to faithful response. By articulating preaching principles related to holiness, communal ethics, worship, and eschatological hope, this study seeks to equip preachers to handle this difficult text with theological depth and pastoral clarity. Ultimately, Ezekiel’s temple vision emerges not as a plan for a future building but as a theological architecture of renewed creation, offering enduring significance for contemporary biblical theology and Christian preaching.

본 논문은 에스겔 40-48장의 성전 환상을 둘러싼 해석학적 난제를 재 검토하고, 본문이 지닌 신학적 구조와 설교적 가능성을 통합적으로 제시 하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 알레고리적, 문자적-미래적, 문학적-상 징적, 신학적-종말론적 해석 전통을 비판적으로 검토한 후, 본 논문은 각 견해의 장점을 수용하되 문자주의의 역사적 한계와 순수 상징주의의 추상성을 보완하는 구속사적-모형론적 해석을 채택한다. 이러한 관점에 서 성전 측량과 구조, 제사 규례, 제사장과 군주 제도, 생명수 비전, 땅 분 배는 모두 하나님의 임재 회복과 거룩의 확산이라는 통일된 신학적 패턴 속에서 분석된다. 더 나아가 본 연구는 에스겔 성전 환상이 신약에서 그 리스도의 성전 사역, 성령의 임재, 새 예루살렘 종말론 안에서 어떻게 성 취되고 재해석되는지를 정경신학적으로 고찰한다. 특히 본 논문은 이 해 석학적 성과를 설교 현장에 적용하여, 에스겔 40-48장을 도덕적 교훈이 나 난해한 환상 본문이 아니라 하나님의 주도적 구원 행위와 은혜에 근 거한 설교 텍스트로 제시한다. 이를 통해 거룩, 공동체 윤리, 교회와 예 배, 종말론적 희망에 대한 설교 원리를 도출하고, 설교자가 본문 속 하나 님의 활동을 중심으로 청중의 삶을 새롭게 해석하도록 돕는다. 결론적으 로 에스겔 40-48장은 단순한 성전 청사진이 아니라, 하나님 임재가 회 복된 새 창조 공동체의 구조를 제시하는 종합적 신학 비전이며, 오늘날 교회의 설교와 신학에 지속적인 해석학적·목회적 의미를 지닌다.
