This study examined the personalized learning functions of AI Digital Textbooks (AIDT) by analyzing three AIDTs— Jihaksa, Cheonjae, and Classting—in the high school mathematics unit Quadratic Equations and Quadratic Functions. Virtual learner profiles were applied to collect AI-recommended problems, which were analyzed by learner level, achievement standards, and problem types. Findings show that AIDTs differentiated problem sets by learner performance levels but often repeated the same problems within the same levels. Recommended problems were categorized into four types—numerical variation, prerequisite concept check, context/condition variation, and conceptual extension—with distributions varying by achievement standards. Case analysis revealed how AIDTs restructured problems and the educational implications of each type. In conclusion, AIDTs demonstrated potential for qualitative differentiation beyond difficulty adjustment but also showed limitations due to repetitive practice. This study provides baseline evidence for improving AIDTs as tools for personalized mathematics learning.

본 연구는 AI 디지털교과서(AIDT)의 개별화 학습 기능을 검토하기 위해, 고등학교 수학 이차방정식과 이차함수 단원을 중심으로 지학사, 천재교과서, 클래스팅 3종 AIDT를 분석하였다. 가상 학습자 프로파일을 설정하여 학습 수준별 진단과 AI 추천 문항을 수집⋅분석하고, 성취기준별 유형 분포와 사례를 고찰하였다. 분석 결과, AIDT는 정답률 기반으로 학습자를 수준별로 구분하고 상⋅중⋅하 수준에 따라 차별화된 문항을 제공하 였으나, 동일 수준 학습자에게 동일 문항을 반복 제시하는 한계도 드러났다. 추천 문항은 선수/기초 개념 확인, 숫자 변형, 조건 변형, 개념 심화의 네 가지 유형으로 분류되었으며, 성취기준의 성격에 따라 유형 분포가 달랐다. 사례 분석에서는 유형별 변형 방식과 교육적 의미가 확인되었다. AIDT 는 난이도 조절을 넘어 유형적 차별성을 제공할 가능성을 보였으나, 반복 중심의 한계가 병존하였다. 본 연구는 AIDT의 현황과 개선 방향을 제시하는 기초 자료로 의의를 갖는다.
