This study analyzed data from the 2023 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) to examine the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and its influencing factors according to health literacy among older adults with diabetes. A total of 424 diabetic participants aged 65 years and older were included in the analysis. Data analyzed using complex linear regression with SPSS/WIN 23.0. The results showed that lower levels of health literacy were associated with poorer HRQoL. The regression analysis revealed that activity limitations, lack of walking activity during the week, and high perceived stress, and self-rated poor health status were all linked to decreased HRQoL. These findings suggest that improving health literacy among older adults with diabetes, along with developing tailored programs that address their physical, emotional, and lifestyle characteristics, and implementing systematic management strategies by governmental and healthcare institutions, are essential to enhance their health-related quality of life.

본 연구는 노인 당뇨병 환자의 건강정보이해능력에 따른 건강 관련 삶의 질과 삶의 질 영향요인을 확인하기 위하여 2023년 국민건강영양조사를 분석하였으며, 만 65세 이상의 노인 당뇨병 환자 424명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 23.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여, 빈도와 가중치가 반영된 추정 백분율, 복합표본 교차분석, 복합표본 선형 회귀분석을 이용하 였다. 연구결과, 대상자의 건강정보이해능력이 낮을수록 건강 관련 삶의 질은 낮았으며, 건강 관련 삶의 질 영향요인은 활동 제한이 있는 경우, 일주일간 걷기를 전혀 안하는 경우, 주관적 건강상태를 나쁘게 인식하는 경우 건강 관련 삶의 질이 낮게 나 타났다. 따라서, 노인 당뇨병 환자의 건강 관련 삶의 질 향상을 위하여 건강정보이해능력을 높이고, 노인의 신체적, 정서적 특 성, 생활습관을 고려한 맞춤형 프로그램과 정부 및 보건의료기관의 조직적인 관리가 마련되어야 할 것이다.
