Today, images have an influence in all directions, from micro-daily life to education and the cultural industries to political propaganda. Modern life is so closely related to images that people have become much more familiar with the senses of seeing and hearing than with reading and writing texts. In this respect, modern society can be said to be an era of excessive imaging. Unfortunately, however, the infinite proliferation and circulation of modern images repeat the conjunction of capital and power that Deleuze warned against. Today's image has a cultural power tendency to cleverly penetrate the desires and thought of modern people, and the bigger problem is that the cultural power of images has colonized subjectivity in various ways, forming a system of social surveillance. This thesis began with this dilemmatic conditions of the image phenomenon of modern society. In particular, Deleuze's philosophy serves as a valid critical basis for this study in that it can comprehensively diagnose the fundamental problems of images, from ontology to epistemology and axiology. Above all, the ambivalent orientation of 'oppression and control' and 'resistance and creation' implied in the coercion of images presents not only the dangers and problems of micro-power in modern images, but also the possibility of liberation at the same time. Therefore, based on Deleuze's image philosophy, this paper analyzes the ontological autonomy of images and its ambivalent immanent tendency from the perspective of philosophy, education, society, and politics, and based on this, images as the driving force of the subject’s thinking in modern society and the direction of its practice will be explored.

오늘날 이미지는 미시적 일상에서 교육과 문화산업 시장 그리고 정치적 선전에 이르기까지 전방위적인 영향력을 미치고 있다. 현대인의 삶은 이제 읽고 쓰는 문자보다 보고 듣는 감각에 훨씬 더 익숙해질 만큼 이미지와 밀착되어 있다. 이런 점에서 현대사회는 이미지 과잉화 시대라고 말할 수 있다. 그러나 안타깝게도, 현대의 이미지 무한 증식과 순환은 들뢰즈가 경계했던 자본과 권력의 결합을 반복하고 있다. 오늘날 이미지는 현대인의 욕망과 사유를 교묘하게 파고드는 문화 권력적 성향을 띠고 있으며, 보다 더 큰 문제는 이미지의 문화 권력이 다양한 방식으로 대중을 식민화하면서 사회적 감시 체계를 형성하게 되었다는 점이다. 본 논문은 바로 이러한 현대사회의 이미지 현상의 딜레마적 문제의식에서 시작되었다. 특히 이때 들뢰즈 철학은 존재론부터 시작해서 인식론을 거쳐 가치론에 이르기까지 이미지의 근본적인 문제를 포괄적으로 진단할 수 있다는 점에서 본 연구의 유효한 비판적 토대가 된다. 무엇보다도 이미지의 강제에 내포된 ‘억압과 통제’와 ‘저항과 창조’라는 양가적 지향성은 현대 이미지의 미시 권력의 위험성과 문제뿐만 아니라 그와 동시에 해방의 가능성도 제시한다. 따라서 본 논문은 들뢰즈의 이미지 철학을 토대로, 이미지의 존재론적 자율성과 그 양가적 운동을 철학, 교육, 사회･정치의 관점에서 분석하고 이를 토대로 현대사회에서 주체의 사유를 주도하는 이미지의 선도적인 역할과 그 실천의 방향성을 모색해 볼 것이다.
