This study aimed to examine the associations between stress and quality of life and depression among married middle-aged men experiencing andropause symptoms. A total of 183 married middle-aged men living in Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do were included in this study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from September 9 to November 27, 2025. The mean scores for stress, quality of life, and depression were 2.27±0.34 (out of 5), 2.89±0.25 (out of 5), and 1.06±0.29 (out of 4), respectively. Quality of life was negatively correlated with depression (r=-.392, p<.001), whereas stress was positively correlated with depression (r=.317, p<.001). Multiple regression analysis revealed that quality of life (β=-.396, p<.001), stress (β=.317, p<.001), and monthly income (β=.224, p<.001) were significant predictors of depression, explaining 31.9% of the variance in depression. These findings highlight the importance of mental health interventions focusing on stress reduction and improvement of quality of life for married middle-aged men experiencing andropause symptoms.

본 연구는 갱년기 증상을 경험하는 중년기 기혼 남성을 대상으로 스트레스와 삶의 질이 우울과 어떠한 관련성을 보이는지를 규명하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 경기도와 충청도에 거주하는 중년기 기혼 남성 183명으로, 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 2025년 9월 9일부터 11월 27일까지를 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 스트레스, 삶의 질, 우울의 평균 평점은 각각 2.27±0.34점(5점 만점), 2.89±0.25점(5점 만점), 1.06±0.29점(4점 만점)이었으며, 우울 점수는 연령과 월수입에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 상관관계 분석에서 삶의 질은 우울과 유의한 부적 상관관계 (r=-.392, p<.001)를, 스트레스는 유의한 정적 상관관계(r=.317, p<.001)를 보였다. 다중회귀분석 결과, 삶의 질 (β=-.396, p<.001), 스트레스(β=.317, p<.001), 월수입(β=.224, p<.001)이 우울과 유의한 관련 요인으로 확인되 었고, 이들 변수는 우울 변량의 31.9%를 설명하였다. 본 연구는 갱년기 증상을 경험하는 중년기 기혼 남성을 위한 스트레스 관리와 삶의 질 증진을 중심으로 한 정신건강 중재의 필요성을 시사한다.
