This study examined caregivers’ perceptions and experiences of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID) using qualitative interviews with 13 caregivers and content analysis of posts and comments from two online communities. Primary caregivers primarily recognized external factors as contributors to SUID, with differences in scope of recognition observed based on prior educational experience. Furthermore, anxiety related to SUID was closely linked to the sleep environment. Coping strategies included a mix of insufficiently researched management behaviors, information seeking, and professional consultation. Online parenting communities exhibited discourse that contextually permitted or rationalized SUID risk factors. These findings suggest the need for evidence-based SUID education for primary caregivers. These findings highlight the importance ofaccuratev SUID education.

본 연구는 영아 주 양육자의 영아급사에 대한 인식과 경험을 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 13명의 어머니를 대상으로 심층면담을 수행하고, 두 개의 온라인 육아 커뮤니티에서 수집한 게시글과 댓글을 질적 내용분 석 방법으로 분석하였다. 주 양육자는 영아급사 관련 요인을 주로 외적 요인을 중심으로 인식하였으며, 교육 경험 여부에 따라 인식 범위에 차이가 나타났다. 또한 영아급사 관련 불안 경험은 수면환경과 밀접하게 연관되어 있었 고, 이에 대한 대처로 근거가 불충분한 관리 행동과 정보 탐색 및 전문가 상담이 혼재되어 나타났다. 온라인 육아 커뮤니티에서는 영아급사 위험 요인을 상황적으로 허용하거나 합리화하는 담론이 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과는 주 양육자를 대상으로 한 근거 기반의 영아급사 교육의 필요성을 시사한다.
