Background: With the rising demand for long-term care and the introduction of a new oral care evaluation item, systematic oral care has become increasingly important. This study examined employees’ perceptions of the new item and analyzed the relationships among perception, attitude, and performance to provide evidence for improving staff education systems. Methods: To identify the relationships among perceptions of the newly introduced oral care evaluation indicators, oral care attitudes, and oral care performance, Pearson’s correlation analysis was conducted. The statistical significance level was set at $p < 0.05$. Results: Significant positive correlations were found among employees’ perceptions of the newly introduced oral care evaluation indicators, oral care attitudes, and oral care performance. Higher levels of perception were associated with higher levels of oral care attitude and performance ($p < 0.001$). Conclusion: Along with the expansion of multifaceted education programs for employees of long-term care institutions, oral care guidelines should be provided, and institutional support should be implemented to ensure that oral care is effectively practiced in the field.

연구의 배경 및 목적: 고령화로 장기요양서비스의 수요가 증가하고 장기요양기관 평가지표에 구강관리 항목이 신설됨에 따라 체계적인 구강관리 수행의 중요성이 증가되고 있다. 본 연구는 장기요양기관 평가지표 구강관리 항목에 대한 종사자의 인식을 파악하고 인식, 태도, 수행 간의 관계를 분석하여 종사자를 위한 교육체계 개선을 위한 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 연구방법: 구강관리 항목 신설 인식과 구강관리 태도, 수행 간의 관련성을 파악하기 위하여 피어슨 상관분석 (Pearsonʼs correlation analysis)을 실시하였다. 통계적 유의수준은 p＜0.05로 설정하였다. 결과: 장기요양기관 평가지표 구강관리 항목 신설에 따른 종사자의 인식도, 구강관리 태도, 구강관리 수행 간의 상관관계는 모두와 유의한 정(+)적 상관관계를 보여, 인식도가 높을수록 구강관리 태도와 수행 수준이 높게 나타났다(p＜0.001). 결론: 장기요양기관 종사자들을 대상으로 한 다각적인 교육 확대와 함께 구강관리 지침서 제공이 이루어져야 하며, 구강관리가 현장에서 실질적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 제도적 지원이 병행되어야 한다.
