Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the priorities of oral health education content for high school students and propose effective educational directions. Methods: A questionnaire survey of 322 first-year high school students was conducted to investigate gender, oral health education content awareness levels, and oral health education demands. Collected data were analyzed using independent samples t-tests, paired samples t-tests, Borich demands, and the Locus for Focus Model. Results: Borich demands analysis revealed that ‘how to use a nourishing tooth cream’ had the highest demand, followed by ‘how to whiten teeth’ and ‘mouth exercises for improving oral function’. The Locus for Focus Model analysis revealed that the first quadrant (HH), where the differences between demands and awareness levels were all high, included ‘how to reduce halitosis’, ‘how to whiten teeth’, ‘how to check if tooth brushing is working’, ‘how to choose a toothbrush’, ‘how to choose toothpaste’, and ‘foods that are healthy for dental health’. Combining both analyses, ‘how to whiten teeth’ and ‘how to choose toothpaste’ were identified as the educational content that should be prioritized in oral health education for high school students. Conclusions: This study is significant in that it systematically presented oral health education priorities for high school students in parallel with the Borich requirements and the Locus for Focus Model, and can be used as basic material for the development of future school oral health education programs.

연구배경: 본 연구는 고등학생을 대상으로 구강보건교육 내용의 우선순위를 분석하여 효과적인 교육 방향을 제 시하고자 진행하였다. 연구방법: 고등학교 1학년 학생 322명을 대상으로 설문지를 통해 성별, 구강보건교육 내용 인식 수준, 구강보건 교육 요구 수준을 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 독립표본 t-검정, 대응표본 t-검정, Borich 요구도, The Locus for Focus Model을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: Borich 요구도 분석 결과, ‘치아영양크림 사용 방법’이 가장 높은 요구도를 보였으며, 그 다음으로 ‘치 아 미백 방법’, ‘입체조’ 순으로 나타났다. The Locus for Focus Model 분석에서는 요구 수준과 인식 수준 차이가 모두 높은 제1사분면(HH)에 ‘입 냄새 관리 방법’, ‘치아 미백 방법’, ‘칫솔질이 잘 되었는지에 대한 확인 방법’, ‘칫 솔 선택 방법’, ‘치약 선택 방법’, 구강건강에 좋은 음식’이 포함되었다. 두 분석을 종합한 결과, ‘치아 미백 방법’과 ‘치약 선택 방법’이 고등학생의 구강보건교육에서 최우선적으로 다루어야 할 교육 내용으로 확인되었다. 결론: 본 연구는 Borich 요구도와 The Locus for Focus Model을 병행하여 고등학생의 구강보건교육 우선순위를 체계적으로 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 향후 학교 구강보건교육 프로그램 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
