The current moral education curriculum (revised in 2022) addresses non-competition and inaction as content knowledge related to Lao-tzu's thought. Based on a textual analysis of Lao-tzu, I examine the meaning of "non-competition," which is emphasized as content knowledge in the high school textbook "Ethics and Thought." I will conceptualize the various aspects of the Tao, using water as a metaphor. In this process, I will elucidate the meanings of "Softness and Fragility" (柔弱), "Flowing Downward" (下流), "non-competitive" (不爭), and "Going to Places People Dislike" (處衆 人之所惡). Based on this, I examine the implications of Lao-tzu's theory of the goodness of water for current moral education.

현행 도덕과 교육과정(2022개정본)에서는 노자 사상과 관련된 내용 지식으로 특히 무위와 부쟁을 다루도록 명시되어 있다. 특히, 노자의 수선론의 중요한 요소인 부쟁은 노자의 상선약수장에 명시되어 있다. 이 논문은 노자 텍스트 분석에 기초하여 도덕과 교육과정의 내용지식 (Content Knowledge)으로 중시되는 부쟁의 의미를 규명하고 나아가 물을 취유하여 보여주는 다양한 도의 모습을 구체적으로 개념화할 것 이다. 이 과정에서 유약(柔弱), 하류(下流), 자신을 낮춤(以下), 부쟁 (不爭)과 처중인지소오(處衆人之所惡) 즉 ‘사람들이 싫어하는 곳에 머 문다’는 의미를 규명한다. 나아가 이에 기초하여 노자 수선론이 현행 도덕과 교육에 주는 시사점을 고찰한다.
