This study aims to propose instructional design principles and examples of curriculum-based service learning in connection with the aims of moral education. To achieve this, it first examines the meaning and characteristics of service learning and critically reviews the context and features of how ‘service’ has been presented in the Korean national curriculum. Despite the curriculum’s emphasis on the importance of service, there has been a lack of discussion on practical models and standards that can be implemented in linkage with subject education. Addressing this gap, the study presents a lesson design model based on the IPARD process aligned with the 2022 revised moral education achievement standards, drawing on qualitative implementation criteria and typologies of service learning. Furthermore, it suggests the need for continued discussion on refining project evaluation criteria consistent with the moral education paradigm and on establishing sustainable partnerships between schools and local communities for the effective implementation of service learning.

본 연구는 도덕과 교육의 지향과 연계하여 교육과정 기반 봉사 학습 의 수업 설계 원리와 예시를 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 봉 사 학습의 의미와 특성을 살펴보고, 한국 교육과정에서 ‘봉사’가 제시 되어 온 맥락과 특성을 비판적으로 검토하였다. 한국 교육과정에서 봉 사의 중요성을 강조하고 있음에도 불구하고, 교과 교육과 연계하여 실 행할 수 있는 실질적 모델과 기준에 대한 논의가 부족하다는 점을지적하고, 봉사 학습의 질적 실천 기준과 유형에 근거하여 IPARD 모델 에 따른 수업 설계안을 2022 개정 도덕과 성취기준과 연계하여 제시하 였다. 아울러 본 연구는 봉사 학습의 효율적 운영을 위해 도덕과 수업 패러다임과 연계된 프로젝트 평가 준거의 정교화, 학교와 공동체 협력 체계 구축에 관한 지속적인 논의가 필요함을 제안하였다.
