This study explored the direction of holistic education in nursing amid the expanding use of AI by qualitatively examining the meaning of learning experiences in AI-based nursing education environments, including generative AI, simulation-based virtual patients, and automated feedback systems. An online survey was conducted with 17 nursing students, FGIs with six voluntary participants and three licensed school health teachers. Data were analyzed by integrating thematic analysis of interview transcripts with a holistic educational framework encompassing cognitive, emotional, ethical, and relational dimensions. Trustworthiness was ensured through member checking. The findings revealed that learning experiences in AI-based nursing education formed an integrative developmental process, beginning with technical performance stability and emotional responses and extending to reinterpreting the meaning of caring, strengthening ethical judgment, expanding relational understanding, and deepening professional identity. These findings suggest the need to reconceptualize future AI-based nursing education as a holistic learning environment in which technological efficiency and human-centered values function complementarily, providing empirical foundations for AI-informed teaching, learning, and curriculum design.

본 연구는 AI 기술이 확산되는 교육환경 속에서 간호교육이 지향해야 할 홀리스틱 교육의 방향을 탐색하고자, 생성형 AI, 시뮬레이션 기반 가상환자, 자동화된 피드백 시스템 등 AI 기반 간호교육 환경에서의 학습 경험이 지니는 의미 변화를 질적 분석 관점에서 규명하였다. 이를 위해 간호대학생 17명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하고, 이 중 자발적 동의자 6명과 현직 보건교사 3명을 대상으로 FGI를 진행하였다. 자료 분석은 설문조사를 통한 전반적 경험 경향 파악과 함께 면담 전사본에 대한 주제 분석을 홀리스틱 교육철학의 분석 틀(인지·정서·윤리·관계 차원의 통합)과 결합하여 수행하였으며, 참여자 검토과정을 통해 해석의 신뢰도를 확보하였다. 연구 결과, AI 기반 간호교육 환경에서의 학습 경험은 기술적 수행 안정감과 정서적 반응 형성을 출발점으로 하여 돌봄 의미의 재해석, 윤리적 판단의식 강화, 관계적 이해의 확장, 전문직 정체성 인식의 심화로 연결되는 통합적 변화 과정으로 나타났다. 특히 AI의 비인격적 특성은 인간 중심의 돌봄에 대한 중요성을 오히려 선명하게 드러내는 계기로 작용하였으며, 기술 판단의 한계를 인식하는 경험은 전문직 책무성과 성찰을 강화하는 방향으로 확장되었음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 앞으로의 AI 기반 간호교육을 기술적 효율성과 인간 중심 가치가 상호 보완적으로 작동하는 홀리스틱 학습 환경으로 재개념화할 필요성을 제기하며, AI 활용 교수·학습 및 교육과정 설계에 대한 경험적 근거를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
