The purpose of this study is to assess the continuity and evolution of North Korea's unified front tactics and analyze the similarities and differences between the "communist unified front tactics toward South Korea" of the Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il, and Kim Jong-un eras following the division of the peninsula. To accurately grasp the essence of North Korea's "unified front tactics," this study compares the development of the "revolutionary strategy toward South Korea" and "unified front tactics" pursued by the supreme leaders from the Kim Il-sung era to the Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un eras, including the concept and origins of the "revolutionary strategy toward South Korea," based on various literature and actual cases. The continuity of the unified front tactics across the Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il, and Kim Jong-un eras was to solidify the system for the stability and maintenance of the supreme leader's absolute power. The goal of each leader's revolutionary keynote toward South Korea and the unified front theory was to strengthen North Korea's internal revolutionary capacity. In particular, under Kim Jong-un, the "hybrid unified front" tactic, based on cyber activities, has shown significant differences from traditional unified front tactics. This study is significant in re-establishing the evolution of North Korea's unified front tactics.

본 연구의 목적은 북한 통일전선전술의 지속성과 변화를 평가하고 분단 이후 김일성·김정일·김정은 시기의 ‘공산주의 대남 통일전선전술’의 공통점과 차이점을 분석하는 것이다. 북한의 ‘통일전선전술’의 본질을 정확히 파악하기 위해 ‘대남혁명 전략’ 의 개념과 기원 배경을 포함한 김일성 시대부터 김정일과 김정은 시대까지의 시기별 최고지도자가 추구해 온 ‘대남혁명전략’ 과 ‘통일전선 전술’의 전개양상을 각종 문헌과 실제 전개된 사례를 바탕으로 비교 하였다. 김일성·김정일·김정은 시대 통일전 선전술의 지속성은 최고지도자의 절대권력 유지안정을 위한 체제결속이며, 각 지도자의 시대별 대남혁명 기조와 통일전선이 론의 목표는 북한 내부의 혁명역량을 강화 시켰다. 특히, 김정은 시대에서는 지능화된 통일전선전술로서 사이버(Cyber)활동 기반의 ‘하이브리드(Hybrid) 통일전선전술’을 전통적인 방식의 통일전선전술과 많은 차이를 보였다. 본 연구를 통해 북한의 통 일전선전술의 변화를 재정립하는데 큰 의의가 있다.
