This study analyzed the impact of Digital Literacy, a mandatory liberal arts course at D University, on the development of core competencies required of university students in the era of digital transformation. Using data from a core competency diagnosis and needs assessment, analyses such as descriptive statistics, Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA), regression (OLS, RSE), and Propensity Score Matching (PSM, IPW) were conducted. The findings revealed that while students recognized the high importance of core competencies, their perceived proficiency remained low. However, those who completed digital literacy courses reported higher satisfaction and improvements not only in digital competency but also in creative convergence and global communication. These results indicate that digital literacy serves as a “Hub Competency” promoting the integrated growth of various core skills beyond technical ability. Accordingly, universities should expand digital literacy education across disciplines and strengthen experiential, project-based, and extracurricular learning connections to enhance students’ overall competencies.

본 연구는 디지털 전환 시대에 요구되는 대학생의 핵심역량 함양을 위해, D대학의 필수 교양 교과목인 디지털 문해 교과가 대학 핵심역량에 미치는 영향을 분석 하였다. 연구에서는 재학생을 대상으로 실시한 핵심역량 진단 및 수요조사 결과를 활용하여 기술통계, 중요도-현재수준(IPA), 회귀분석(OLS, RSE), 성향점수매칭 (PSM, IPW), 상관 및 부분상관분석 등을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 대학생들은 전반적으로 핵심역량의 중요성을 높게 인식하고 있으나 현재수준은 이에 미치지 못하 는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 디지털 관련 역량의 수준이 상대적으로 낮게 인식되는 반면, 관련 교과목을 이수한 학생들은 수업 후 만족도와 학습효과를 높게 평가하 였다. 또한 디지털 문해 교과목의 이수는 디지털 역량뿐 아니라 창의융합, 글로벌 소통 등 다른 핵심역량에도 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 디지털 문해가 단일한 기술 역량을 넘어 다양한 핵심역량의 발달을 촉진하는 허브적 역량으로 기능함을 시사한다. 이에 따라 대학 교양 교육에서는 전공 구 분 없이 디지털 문해 교육을 확대하고, 프로젝트 기반의 실습형 수업 및 비교과 프로그램과의 연계를 강화할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 디지털 문해 교과목이 대학생 의 핵심역량을 통합적으로 향상시키는 교육적 기반임을 실증적으로 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 향후 대학 교양 교육의 방향 설정과 역량 기반 교육과정 의 고도화에 기초자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
