This study details the conservation treatment, material characterization, and scientific analysis of Dongin siwha (Remarks on Poetry by a Man from the East, 1477), designated as a Treasure. The book was identified as bound in an Ochimseonjang style, using three paper twists and blue cotton thread, with text pages composed of paper mulberry fibers. The missing cover was replaced with a new one, modeled on the 1478 edition of Dongin siwha from the same period. During conservation, three dead insect larvae, each approximately 9 mm in length, were found within cocoons. Mitochondrial DNA analysis identified them as honeybee larvae. This research not only proposes conservation methods for this early Joseon Dynasty book but also demonstrates the applicability of molecular biological techniques for identifying unknown insects in cultural heritage artifacts.

본 연구에서는 보물 동인시화(1477)의 보존처리와 함께 재질 조사와 과학적 분석을 실시하 였다. 동인시화는 3개의 지정(紙釘)과 청색 면끈으로 장정된 오침선장본(五針線裝本)으로 추정되 며 내지는 닥섬유로 확인되었다. 유실된 표지는 동시대 동인시화(1478)를 참고하여 새로 제작하였 다. 보존처리 과정 중 내지에서 몸길이 약 9㎜ 정도의 곤충 유충 사체 3마리가 발견되어, 정확한 동정을 위해 미토콘드리아 DNA 분석을 실시한 결과 꿀벌로 판별되었다. 본 연구는 조선 초기 선장본의 보존처리 방법 뿐만 아니라 미상의 곤충의 동정에 있어 분자생물학적 기법의 적용 가능 성을 시사한다.
