This study analyzes Tosanyeodeuretdangsin Bonpuri as a migration narrative of a goddess and interprets it through the lens of the politics of the body. The deity, Tosanyeodeuretdangsin, migrates from Naju to Seoul and finally to Jeju, undergoing a process of wandering marked by her inability to settle in a single location and her continual displacement to the margins. This migration is characterized not as a voluntary journey, but as a form of forced displacement driven by the hierarchical order of Confucian authority and male-centered social structures. In this context, the deity selects the female body as her final locus, rather than a fixed physical place. In Tosanyeodeuretdangsin Bonpuri, the goddess manifests her divine power through women’s afflicted bodies and the ‘han’ (deep resentment) of restless spirits, while transmitting religious belief through matriarchal succession. Through this process, the female body becomes an “embodied sanctuary”—both the dwelling place of the deity and the foundation for sustaining faith. Ultimately, this study elucidates how the goddess’s ceaseless movement functions as a driving force for religious transmission mediated by women’s bodies, thereby identifying the myth as a political text that configures the migratory experience of a female deity within the dynamics of religion and gender.

이 글은 <토산여드렛당신본풀이>를 여신의 이주 서사로 분석하고 몸의 정치 학적 관점에서 해석하고자 한다. 토산여드렛당신은 나주에서 서울을 거쳐 제주로 이동하며 한 곳에 좌정하지 못한 채 주변부를 떠도는 유랑의 과정을 겪는다. 이러한 이주는 신이 자발적으로 선택한 여정이 아니라, 유교 권력의 위계와 남 성 중심적 질서 속에서 거처를 잃고 계속해서 밀려나는 과정으로 형상화된다. 이에 신은 유형의 장소에 머무르는 대신 여성의 몸을 최후의 거점으로 선택 한다. 신은 여성의 병든 몸과 원혼의 한을 통해 권능을 드러내고 모계 계승을 통해 신앙을 전승한다. 이 과정에서 여성의 몸은 신이 머무는 장소이자 신앙이 지속되는 기반으로서의 ‘체화된 성소’가 된다. 이 글은 끊임없이 이동하는 신의 여정이 여성의 몸을 매개로 한 신앙 전승의 동력이 되는 과정을 고찰하고 토산 여드렛당신 신화가 종교와 젠더의 역학 속에서 여성 신격의 이주 경험을 형상 화한 정치적 텍스트임을 규명하고자 한다.
