This study examines the evolution and significance of the artistic life of actress Lee Ham-deok, who devoted her career to the Goryeo Theater, focusing on its connections with Russia, Central Asia, North Korea, and South Korea. Based on the need to explore common denominators in inter-Korean art, the study investigates Lee Ham-deok’s status in the history of the Goryeo Theater, her passion for the play Chunhyangjeon, and the cultural impact of the Koryoin people, all from the perspective of enhancing ‘national identity’. Furthermore, through representative examples of theatrical performances in Central Asia, this study reexamines the embodiment of ‘cultural hybridity’, which simultaneously transmitted the local culture of Central Asia to the Koryoin community and functioned as a medium of collective memory for the diaspora. In doing so, the historical and literary significance of these artistic practices is newly illuminated.

본 연구는 고려극장에서 한평생을 바친 배우 이함덕의 삶을 통해 러시아·중 앙아시아·북한·남한예술계에 걸쳐 접점을 지닌 그녀의 예술 인생의 진화 양상과 그 의의를 고찰하였다. 남·북한 예술의 공통된 시원(始原)에 대한 연구의 필요 성을 기반으로, 고려극장 역사에서 이함덕의 위상과 연극 <춘향전>에 임했던 그녀의 열정과 이에 대한 고려인들의 반향을 ‘민족정체성’ 제고의 관점에서 규 명했다. 나아가 중앙아시아의 대표적인 연극 공연 사례를 통해, 중앙아시아 현 지 문화를 고려인들에게 전파하는 동시에 디아스포라에 대한 집단기억 매개자 역할을 했던 이함덕의 예술세계를 노정하는 ‘문화혼종성’의 체화 양상과 그 문 예사적 의의를 재조명하였다.
